This article is an expanded version of a recent article in the Balanced Voting series at OpEdNews. It shows how other problems with our elections can be solved with the elimination of the two-party duopoly, particularly if that happens through the adoption of Balanced Approval Voting.
I have been suggesting something similar to BAV for several years without realizing there were alternatives actually being used. I recently met some Australians who like their ranked voting system. It's great to hear dialogue on alternatives to the current two party system.
Thank you for your email, it was good to hear from you. It seems you are just getting started in this area, so perhaps I can help with some links you might explore.
https://electionscience.org/ promotes approval voting and the site has some good information though oddly they seem opposed to BAV. BAV derives its namd from AV and I view it as an improvement generally and particularly if you think the two-party duopoly is an unfortunate feature of our politics.
